Alex Griffin Meeks, Esq.
Alex is a seasoned attorney with extensive experience in estate planning, estate adminstration, and family law. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland, where she was honored with membership in Phi Beta Kappa. Alex went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Cardozo School of Law in 2007. She practiced law in Brooklyn, New York City for many years before relocating “home” to Maryland in 2019.
Since embarking on her legal career, Alex has dedicated herself to providing compassionate and effective representation for her clients. With over seventeen years of experience, she has successfully resolved countless family law and estate matters, helping families navigate complex legal landscapes with confidence and clarity.

Alex embraces the busy parent lifestyle in Columbia, Maryland, where she live with my husband, three children, two cats and a dog.
Three Things You Might Not Know About Me:

I love puzzles. Nothing is more fun than using logic to tease out the answer to a problem. I especially love when the answer involves a good pun. Most mornings I wake up early and complete the NYTimes crossword before anyone else is awake. If I don't have time for that, I’ve been known to do the Wordle.

I have local roots. I’m a proud graduate of Wilde Lake High School (1997) and UMCP (2002). I moved my family from Brooklyn, NY back to Maryland in 2019 because I think it’s such a great place to raise kids.

I love being outdoors. In the spring and fall, I love to play golf and during the summer I find time for the neighborhood pool just about every day. Fresh air and sunshine help me be my best self for my clients.
My Furry Officemates.
Chances are if you see me on a video chat from my home office, you’ll catch one of my officemates on screen. The white cats, Popcorn and Cheddar Cheese, are brothers and Percy is a Great Pyrenees mix.
